Aihaji H. A. B. Fasinro who was Vice - President to the Late
Alhaji Chief S. L Edu became the 7th President on the 13th
December 1987.
The Late Chief Edu resigned on 13/12/87 having given notice
since July 1987 to stand down after 14 years in office as
President.
In accordance with the Constitution, the Vice - President
automatically becomes the President once there is vacancy
in the office of President.
Although his tenure as President was only 2 years, it is
on record that about 3 months to the end of his term as President,
he undertook a tour of the Missions in the Northern part of
Nigeria.
The election held in January 1990 which was to return Alhaji
Fasinro to the Office of President
for his own 3 years term after completing the remainder (2
years) of the 3 years term of the Late
Chief S. L Edu saw the emergence of Alhaji K. 0. Tinubu who
was the Vice - President to
Alhaji H. A. B. Fasinro during the 2 years of his Presidency.
