The Second President after the demise of Adam Idowu Yakub
was Late Brother Saka Tinubu who was President from 1927-
1940.
Brother Saka Tinubu was blessed as he was a wealthy man who
used his wealth in the service of Allah and the propagation
of Islam. He used his wealth for the growth of the Movement.
In fact, when there was a case with the Quranic Group and
the Movement, the total Cost of £720.00 Pounds as it
then was awarded against the Movement was paid by him (although
he said it was a loan by him to the Movement) but he never
really collected the money back from the Movement.
Before the case with the Quranic Group started, the house
of Brother Saka Tinubu at 51, Kakawa Street, Lagos served
as the Headquarters and Secretariat of the Movement, where
all the meetings of the Executive Council were held.
Under his Presidency, the Movement made a lot of impact and
progress.
When the Constitution in 1934 was adopted and passed on Tuesday
31st July, 1934, Saka Tinubu and two other to wit
Jibril Martin, and M. B. Adeniji Adele were elected as Trustees
of the Movement. His greatest achievement was that he kept
the Movement together and did not allow it to disintegrate
until he died on 10th October 1940.
